Well the first mini Working Bee of 2021 was held in March, and it was great to see a couple of new faces joining the usual suspects.
Volunteers were advised to come armed with their favourite claw hammer and secret nail pulling tools. Scarey how many arrived with secret nail pulling tools.
Is there a secret club I don’t know about ?……….. None the less the task was to remove nails from the salvaged flooring from the old Pavilion.
When deciding to salvage and repurpose this floor we were given lots of warnings – about how hard the nails would be to remove: the perils of such a task !
I’m pleased to say that it was not the hardship we were lead to believe and were dreading – the nails were rusty and ready to leave the floor boards, there were some stubborn one’s,
but thats where those secret nail pulling tools came into their own. 3 hours x 8 people and the job was done. Floors boards sorted and ready for a new life.
Many thanks to our volunteers for giving your time to get this job out of the way and ready for the builders – it was truely appreciated.
A very special thanks to Del Linnewebber who provided a morning tea of legend status.
